WP 11: Overall assessment of DG in local power supply systems
|
The main goals of Work Package 11 were the summary and assessment of the results
achieved in the other work packages of DISPOWER and the dissemination of the activities
carried out during the project.
As regards the summary and assessment, the partners produced two deliverables titled
“Summary report on impact of power generators distributed in low voltage grid segments” and
“Summary report on technical measures for optimum utilisation of distributed power
generators”. |
|
The first deliverable holds the main aspects of the analysis made as regards the socioeconomic
impact of DG, the way DG affects the power quality, the relations between DG and
grid topologies and the needs for changing protection and control systems in presence of DG.
The second deliverables centres on the options for optimised grid operations, the description
of selected tools and concepts for grid optimisation and the outcomes coming from practical
application of new techniques to manage DG. |
|
Concerning the dissemination activities the partners involved in WP 11 presented several
papers in national and international conference (CIRED - International Conference & Exhibition
on Electricity Distribution, GUSEE - Bi-annual Meeting of Italian University Researchers in
Power Systems, Italian Workshop on Electrical Distribution and Distributed Generation:
Automation and Control, La Termotecnica - Italian Journal, RMEI - Mediterranean Engineering
School Network, , Workshop on Contract Structures, IEEE PSCE 2004 - Power Systems
conference & Exposition). Moreover a relevant number of highlight leaflets produced inside the
DISPOWER project come from partners involved in WP 11.
A workshop was organised in CESI, where some partners explained part of the several
results obtained: in the workshop the DISPOWER partners faced utilities, manufactures and
control designers to check their reactions concerning the work done. |
|
As corollary of the dissemination activities the data acquisition system (DAS), inside the
CESI test facility, has been set up. It operates in the web metaphor: a web server makes the data
available on the network by the HTTP protocol and there are a series of HTML pages with
relative applets that take care of controlling the access right and of transmitting the data. In that
way remote connections to the experimental plant are allowed in safety mode.
Finally a brochure was produced for the “First International Conference on the Integration of
Renewable Energy Sources and Distributed Energy Resources” - 1st - 3rd December 2004 –
Brussels. The brochure briefly presents the DISPOWER Consortium and concisely shows
selected results achieved during the project till the end of December 2004 (5000 copies were
printed). |
